By 15th February 2013BMX, General, Press, Sport, Video

Last year Professional BMX rider Brett “Maddog” Banasiewicz won the Dew Cup in Ocean City, MD for BMX Park. A few days later he was competing again at the Vans Invitational at Virginia Beach contest. During the contest Brett had an extremely bad fall which rendered him unconscious, he was rushed to hospital in critical condition. The injury left him with serious brain damage which resulted in Brett having to learn to walk and speak again. Thankfully the Athlete Recovery Fund is available to help professional athletes like Brett that require assistance to help them recover.

This is a truly inspirational video of Maddog making a comeback from his injury. We hope to see Brett on his bike again soon. Please make sure whenever you ride you wear a helmet that is up to the job and also support the Athlete Recovery Fund.

“Crooked World goes behind the scenes as Brett “Maddog” Banasiewicz kick, punch, pedals and squats his way back to BMX. Brett’s Dad Bill gives you the rundown on his daily rehab including a look at Brett’s hyperbaric chamber and speech therapy session. Stay Strong #Maddog. Filmed in Dallas, Texas by Tristan Afre. Edited by Justin Kosman.”
