Video: Rampworx BMX Halloween Allnighter 2014

By | BMX, Video | No Comments

Every year Rampworx Skatepark hosts a BMX Allnighter on Halloween, this event has become a staple event in the BMX calendar over the last 8 years with riders traveling from all over the country to come and ride until the early hours of the morning.

The event started at 10pm and finished at 8am the following morning, now you would think everyone would be rushing out the doors at 8am to grab some sleep. But not this year we literally had to chase people out the building at 8am, maybe it was the cans of RedBull doing their job.

We had boxes and boxes full of prizes to give out for this event thanks to our amazing sponsors. Pretty much everyone who attended left with something to keep them riding, we had everything from Total BMX forks to ODI Grips and Fuse Pads to give out.

Jst a casual game if foot down in our bowl!!! Should have been there. #rampworx #rampworxallnighter A video posted by Rampworx Skatepark (@rampworx) on

The guys at Sentient Clothing took over the mic and hosted a bunch of comps throughout the course of the night, including a crazy ‘Foot Down’ contest in the bowl, which saw about 50 riders in the bowl at one time trying not to put their foot on the ground.

Harry Main made a special appearance and brought a bunch of The Wandering goodies to give out through the course of the night, that is of course until he managed to hit the roof doing a flair and popped his tyre at 3am!

With over 300 riders in the building this event was crazy, some amazing riding went down and a good time was had by everyone, even those trying to sleep on ramps at 7am!

Etnies BMX, We Are Park, Ride UK, Blank BMX, Split Second, Harsh Protective Gear, Total BMX, KHE Bikes, The Wandering, Coyote Sports, Hyper BMX, Sentient Clothing, Fuse Protection, Zeal BMX, Alone BMX, Cycling Sports Group, BSD, TSG, ODI Grips, Vocal BMX, Gusset, Cinema Wheel Co and RedBull.

Video: Sam Kefford AO & Ripped Knees 2014

By | Scooter, Video | No Comments

Local Scooter rider Sam Kefford had a really bad slam in the skatepark a few months back, which resulted in him having several brain scans. For most riders this would stop them from ever entering a skatepark again, but not Sam. A recent addition to the AO Scooters & Ripped Knees team he wanted to get out his welcome edit, against the doctors orders. Make sure you keep an eye out for this guy the next time your in the skatepark, he is a beast!

What can we tell you about Mike Hullock? Well… He rides a BMX in our skatepark every week and is one of the nicest kids on the planet. We felt it was about time that his name was put out there and what better way to do this than a short and sweet video.

At Rampworx we believe in a few things; some of these things are have fun and making each other learn tricks no matter what happens. When it comes to BMX in 2014 its all about progression.

Progression is defined by learning and improving; where is the fun in that…? Well, our locals have been killing it since 1997 and we felt like it was time to show you. We asked you on our social media channels what BMX tricks you wanted to see our riders do and on what ramp. Despite some farfetched request we have managed to cherry pick the finest requests and create this video featuring: Phil Larkin, Ben Carragher, Owen Page, Curtis Taylor, Mike Hullock, Alex Nener, Jamie Ricketts and Gary Spencer.

These are only a handful of our locals and you can expect many more of these videos in the near future showcasing more riders, tricks, Stylish and us just having a laugh in our plywood playground.

Video: 5 Minutes With 10 Year Old Josh Rainsford

By | Riders, Skateboard, Video | No Comments

Meet Joshua Rainsford; one of our most local skateboarders. Josh has been skateboarding for 3 years now and we have only seen this kid improve. How many 10 year olds can do all this?

When Josh isn’t clearing gaps or doing 360 fly outs he has the most technical trick sessions with our local pro skater Keith Melia. Keith had this to say.

Josh Rainsford Skateboard Rampworx

Keith – “I love skating with little Josh! This kid only want to learn the hardest and most technically tricks and ignore learning the basics. Where as most people would fail, Josh succeeds.”

Rampworx – “What would you say the future holds for Joshua?”

Keith – “I’m already scared about losing a game of S.K.A.T.E to Josh. He has gotten me on letters before but recently he’s been coming out with tricks that make me stop and think about what he will come up with next week. The kids insane!
