Local BMX Pro rider Harry Main has just been added to the SNAFU team! Check out the press release below.

Rampworx local and DK bikes pro Anthony Watkinson flew back from his little adventure in the USA to take part in this years Ride to Glory. Watkinson was riding for the Stephen Murray foundation also known as team Stay Strong which consisted of a hand picked selection of Pros including Ben Wallace, Matt Priest, Jordan Aleppo and Brandon Kitson.

From the beginning starting in Terminal 1 in Melton Mowbray – this years 6 teams dodged rain, ate jars of pickled eggs, got spray tans, destroyed the flat bars and ticked off a load more to try and claim the 2012 Ride To Glory title! The 6 teams finally ended up at the at The Source in Hastings for the final stop, where we counted up the points and crowned the 2012 Maoam Ride To Glory champions, team Stay Strong.

The first stint of the Maoam Ride To Glory 2012 has been done and dusted! Don’t forget this is only the start, the full dedicated issue and cover mounted DVD will be out on 15th of July! Rampworx has teamed up with Phoenix Scooters to bring you the first ever Scooter Saturday at Rampworx Skatepark! We have never had a Scooter session on a Saturday before, but with the Phoenix team flying in from the USA to come shred the skatepark it was a no brainer. They will also be on the look out for a new Team rider at this event, so if your interested in getting sponsored this is a must go to event! Team Phoenix will also be showcasing all of their new products for you guys.

Please note that Saturday will be a Scooter only session and no other sports will be allowed in.

Skateparks have unwritten rules of use and respect between riders. If you are visiting the skatepark for the first time it can be intimidating with riders flying around everywhere.

Rampworx have made this park etiquette video to teach new skatepark users how to use a skatepark properly.

Rampworx is proud to announce that, as of May 4th, 2012 it will be running a 6-week discounted BMX coaching session as part of the new Sportivate programme. This means that you can get involved in a series of structured sessions (including equipment and safety gear) at Rampworx at a reduced cost of £5 per session!

Sportivate is a £32 million Lottery programme that gives 14-25 year olds access to six-week courses in a range of sports.

Not only is it a chance for them to learn a new sport, or improve on existing skills, but if you keep taking part after the course is finished, you could find yourself on your way to watch the London 2012 Olympic or Paralympics Games. All participants who complete their course, missing no more than one session, and keep playing the sport will be entered into a ballot for free London 2012 tickets through the Ticketshare scheme.

The ROAD TO Relentless Energy Drink NASS BMX Qualifiers Round 2 was held on Saturday 28th April with the North England Leg of the tour. Hosted in Rampworx Park, the event saw entries competing for £2000 prize purse and with only the Top 5 competitors qualifying for the BMX Park event at NASS in July. ROAD TO NASS Qualifications are the only way to enter BMX Park competition at Relentless Energy Drink NASS.

In first place was Francis Wright picking up a purse of £750 and entry in Relentless Energy Drink NASS Park Competition. 2nd place was Paul Ryan and 3rd place was Leon Perkins both earning qualification to the BMX Park contest in July.

Athletes are only be able to compete at Relentless Energy Drink NASS BMX Park event through previous results at major events or the ROAD TO NASS regional UK qualifiers.

Qualifiers feature prize purses of up to £2,000 and the opportunity to compete for a place at the prestigious BMX Park event at Relentless Energy Drink NASS with prize money of £18,000

Relentless Energy Drink NASS also held a ‘Best Trick‘ Competition with a purse of £250 at Rampworx Park

This was won by Paul Ryan with a 50-50 uprail to whip over the driveway! (See below)

The contest was tightly followed by all joint 2nd riders, Dan Shepo, Leon Perkins and James Hobson.

A massive thank you to all riders who attended and to Rampworx for hosting the North England BMX Qualifier on the Road To Relentless Energy Drink NASS.

There are three more stops on the tour to qualify across the UK.
