Foam Pit Video

By | Build, Video | No Comments

We decided to build the biggest Foam Pit possible in our skatepark in Liverpool. This ramp is huge!! We doubt you have seen a Foam Pit like it anywhere else in the world, i mean it even has lights! The Foam pit itself has three separate entry points, a launch on the front of the ramp a quarter pipe on the left hand side and a roll-in on the right hand side. With all these entry points you can practice every trick you can think of, safely!

To get into this ramp we have also built a huge roll-in ramp which will give you so much speed when dropping in you don’t even have to think about peddling or pushing to go harder, you will just fly!

Our Foam Pit is that big that it took two huge arctic trucks full of our specially customised foam to fill it all. The foam has been specifically designed to cushion impact in an optimal way to disperse the users density. We even had a special foam scientist figure all this magic stuff out for us to make sure that it was just right.

Rampworx Skatepark is a charity and we will continue to help young and professional riders progress in the sports we all love. Keep you eyes pealed for our next build project, starting very soon!!

Make sure you head down to the skatepark this summer and check out this new ramp, you can find our opening hours here or alternatively cal us on 0843 155 0097

Foam Pit Opens Tuesday!

By | Build, General | No Comments

Rampworx Foam Pit Construction

It’s been a long time coming, but the Foam Pit will be open officially on Tuesday 30th July at 12pm! This is the biggest foam pit in the country and we are sure you guys are going to love learning new tricks on this. At each side of the foam pit we have built a quarter pipe to help you guys learn how to pull off flairs and other tricks without hitting anything hard! On the top decking we also have a vert wall to launch, so you can jump straight into the step up and continue your line!

We are currently open Holiday Times, you can check the opening times here.

Helmets must be worn by anyone wishing to use the Foam Pit.*

£6m Wirral Indoor Skatepark

Rampworx Skatepark Wirral

Ambitious designs for a £6m indoor skatepark and sporting village in Wirral have been revealed by the Liverpool Echo.

Rampworx has submitted plans to the council for a 5,600 sq m complex on  1.3 hectares of land off Valley Road, Bidston, that would create up to  35 jobs as well as volunteer opportunities.

The charity and social enterprise, which works with young people to provide sporting and learning opportunities, already has a  skatepark in Aintree catering for around 1,300 people a week.

Rampworx has been working with Liverpool firm ABW architects on the plans and has now released artist’s impressions of how the state-of-the-art development would look.

As well as the skatepark, it incorporates a climbing wall, workshop and office space, cafe, business start-up units,  a music rehearsal room, dance studio and parking.

The complex would also cater for other sports including futsal, gymnastics, roller derby, trampolining and handball.

Work on the Bidston project  began in 2007 and the charity has now applied to secure planning approval for the Rampworx Youth Village Wirral development, which will allow the charity  to apply for grant funding for the scheme.

Tony Berry, Rampworx  development manager, said: “It will be a flagship building for extreme sports, drawing in top-level athletes from all over the world. It’s  multi-use and there’s social and educational aspects too. It’s family-based, not just for kids on BMXs and scooters and would be a sporting village for the whole  area.

“We’ve had  backing from the community, councillors including Bidston Cllr Harry Smith and MPs Frank Field and Angela Eagle.  It’s taken six years to get to this point,  it’s an excellent idea but that’s all it is at the moment.

“It’s now going to planning  and if we get approval we can start looking at applying for funding from the likes of Sport England and the lottery and try to make it a reality.”

Documents lodged with the plans include a feasibility study setting out the need for the facility following a public consultation.

Ben Lewis in Poland BMX Camp

By | Ben Lewis, BMX, Event | No Comments

Ben Lewis is one of the local BMX pro riders at Rampworx, he also just so happens to be one of the best street riders on the planet. So it’s no surprise that Etnies decided to jet him off to Poland to help teach the grassroots BMX scene over there what is possible on their bikes!

Grassroots is a key part of the industry and without new riders taking up the sport and great riders line Benny L giving up their own time to teach kids how to ride, we will no longer have a scene. We need more camps like this and more importantly more riders like Ben who is willing to help teach kids how to BMX and perfect those tricks. If you see a kid at your local sport watching you ride, offer to teach them how to ride, perfect that trick and give encouragement to new riders and keep them in the sport!

Big shout out to bmxcamp.pl and etnies.com for putting on a sick BMX camp.

Party People Needed for E4 TV show!

By | Event, Press | No Comments

We have had a request from our mates at E4 to help them find some party animals. They are making a new E4 reality series which will give selected people the chance to throw their dream house party with the opportunity to invite their friends along for the ride. They’ll all have to have a reason for doing it too. Now we all know that extreme sport riders know how to party, heres your chance to prove it.

Do you know of any outgoing and all round loveable characters? They are looking for groups of friends who have a reason to host a house party and have lives filled with drama. If there is anyone in particular who springs to mind who you think would be perfect for this opportunity and simply shouldn’t miss out, it would be great to speak to them.

If there is anyone 18+ who may have a reason to throw a party and would like to be involved, please ask them to contact us on: beonpartyhouse@room414.co.uk.
