Do I need to register?
All of our users must register for a free Rampworx membership, no hidden costs0. This doubles as a waiver, and is how you will sign into the skatepark each time you visit. You will be given your very own Rampworx membership card, which you must remember to bring with you each time.
The membership cannot be done in the parent/guardians name, this is for the rider. If you have 3 children for example, each child will need their own membership completing. Your membership also includes any important medical information that we need to know, so be sure to fill out the form thoroughly. This can be done when you arrive, but please try to do this before you visit to save time.
Do I need to book?
You can book online for sessions here. Booking ahead of time makes it quicker signing in, but it is not a requirement. You can simply turn up and pay cash/card on the door. We have a huge capacity building so you won’t be turned away!
Booking is a requirement for coaching, parties and some events we hold.
Can I bring a scooter that has 3 wheels, folds or adjusts?
No. We only allow “stunt” scooters for use in Rampworx, And here’s why.
Folding/Adjusting scooters – Stunt scooters are designed with a one-piece handlebar as the bars must be strong to withstand impact from jumps & tricks, so any scooters that fold or adjust are NOT classed as stunt scooters.
The folding/adjusting mechanism is a point of weakness, so it is more likely to break when it is subjected to impact in a skatepark due to the nature of the sport. Equally, the handlebar on a stunt scooter will be fixed, one height, and not have a height adjustment mechanism. This is so there is no weakness in the handlebar.
We want all of our users to be safe and although the nature of the sport is high risk, we want to minimize the risk of anybody having an accident and getting hurt at Rampworx.
A huge range of beginner stunt scooters can be found by visiting our shop here.
Can I ride without bar ends?
No bar ends, no ride!
Bar ends are mainly made of nylon, plastic or metal. They are plugs that pop into each end of scooter/bike handlebars, and are installed once the handlebar grips have been installed. They are there to protect the metal open end of handlebars, which are sharp, especially if left open. When attempting a trick there is risk of the bars cutting or impaling skin. At an attempt to minimize risk as much as possible, we have a strict no bar ends, no ride policy. Your scooter/bike will be inspected upon entry by a member of staff to ensure nobody rides without them.
If you don’t have bar ends, you can purchase some in our shop inside the skatepark and our staff will install them for you no problem.
