Miles Kane – Don’t Forget Who You Are

By 17 May 2013 Video

Award winning director Dan Sully (Zane Lowe, Nike, Elbow, Maccabees) and a production team working on behalf of Sony Music to film the new Miles Kane song ‘Don’t Forget Who You Are’ visited Rampworx last month to film some scenes from the video which has received over 266,000 views on Youtube already!

The team worked very closely with one of our members of staff on sourcing unique venues in the city and the brilliant cast of local people, including our very own local BMX rider George Clarke (18), stunt motorbike rider Stuart Sinclair, scooter rider & Nike-sponsored free-runner Morgan Tsang and a group of very talented samba dancers who danced, in the cold, along Leckwith Road outside our skate park!

Local 18 year old musician and aspiring video director, Jamie Lindberg, got the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work closely with the award winning team – spending a full three days working an exhausting, yet exciting, 12 hour schedule each day running around with the team and gaining some excellent experience working on a Sony Music production!! Jamie will be working closely with the skate park and have a big involvement in the music direction of our park; including transforming Upstairs @ Rampworx.

Our friends at Airborn Academy were a prominent part of the video, which featured Airborn members playing football on abandoned streets in Bootle and Morgan Tsang doing back flips off street furniture!!

Local rider and Airborn Academy ambassador, George Clarke, is shown in the video doing a flip in our new extension which will be developed with John Saxton very soon!!

The video has been an overwhelming success, currently listed as Radio One’s sound of the week and receiving fantastic reviews from both local and national media Miles’ ‘homecoming’ gig in association with Jack Daniels’ JD Roots live music initiative took place on Thursday night at local venue Zanzibar, where Miles played his first local gig in a while to a packed-out room of audience members who received exclusive tickets via the JD Roots website and Facebook page.

We had a lot of fun working on it with the incredibly talented team and look forward to working with them again in the future!!
