BBC3 want you for a new TV show!

We have been contacted by the BBC who are looking for people who board, blade, or BMX to appear on the BBC3 show, The World’s Strictest Parents, produced by Twenty Twenty Television.

They are offering an opportunity for 16-18 year olds to travel abroad and learn from living within another family. In previous series they have sent teens to Belize, Ghana, India and the USA and have equally exciting places to send them this series.

They are looking for teens that are interesting and take part in activities beyond just drinking and partying so would be really interested in talking to teens who skate or BMX. They are also looking for teens with big personalities who would also learn and benefit from an experience such as this.

Pass The Bucket – Stephen Murray

June 22, 2007 marked a day that the Action Sports world will remember for a lifetime. A day that has forever changed the life of professional BMX rider & three time U.S. Gold Medalist, Stephen Murray.

In the midst of doing a double back flip, Stephen Murray crashed while competing in the BMX Dirt Finals at the Dew Actions Sports Tour, in Baltimore, Maryland. It was quoted as being “one of the worst crashes seen in BMX” and one that would ultimately be career ending for this incredibly talented, 27 year old athlete. Fully paralyzed, Stephen now lives a different reality, but see’s it as a platform to help others. Through his “Stay Strong” foundation and missioner determination, Stephen surprisingly finds a powerful way to pass the bucket.

Game of RIDE – Round 1 Highlights

Rampworx locals Jason Phelan and Paul Ryan have been competing in a game of RIDE down south recentley.

The 18 riders names were pulled out of a bag to determine who rode against who. It seemed like everyone was evenly matched, but anything can happen in a Game of RIDE! Find out what happened in this highlights video from Round 1.

Rollerblade Pro Team at Rampworx

The Rollerblade Pro Team have just confirmed that they will be venturing over to Liverpool for the Chaz Sands Invitational Contest at Rampworx Skatepark.  David Sizemore (USA), Rob Guererro (USA), Warren Digne (France) and Sven Boekhorst (The Netherlands) will all be in attendance and competing on the day.

Event: Scooter Only Night

Right, after our recent hotly debated scooter poll its time to reveal the results and boy was it close!
A total of 2,677 of you INDIVIDUALLY voted on the poll and the results are as follows:-

Yes (47%, 1,251 Votes)[/box]As you can see it was a pretty tight finish with a lot of scooter riders supporting their cause against the existing 3 sports that we cater for.

Clearly, many of you feel passionately about this subject with many arguments for and against allowing scooter riders into the skatepark and we were determined to listen to both sides of the argument.

It has to be said that Rampworx is committed to its existing users and after careful consideration we have decided to allow Scooters to host a ‘one off’ Monday Scooter only session. If this is successful, then we will consider more regular scooter only sessions. This is only replicating what we currently doing with BMX, Inline and Skateboarding for the Monday only sessions that we are now running throughout the year.
