John Saxton Skatepark Extension Designer

By | Video | No Comments

John Saxton is one of the best ramp builders in the world. He has worked with some of the biggest names in Extreme Sports from Woodward Camp to the X Games this guy has built it all. We tracked John down 2 years ago and flew him to Rampworx  to talk about an idea we had to make our skatepark bigger. After a few delays thanks to all that lovely legal stuff that goes with having a bigger facility we flew John Back over to start work on our Extension Project.

With a design finalised and with the approval of a bunch of local Pro riders we started construction on our 15,000 square foot extension. At time of filming the skatepark had been built in 22 days and only has a few more days left until completion.

Video: Razors Jenna Downing Pro SL Skate

By | Inline, Jenna Downing, Video | No Comments

Arguably one of the most deserved pro skates to ever come out, the Razors Jenna Downing Pro SL Skate is an amazing symbol of success and achievement for Jenna Downing. Over the course of her skating career Jenna has won just about every major competition there has been, from X-Games medals to World Championship titles, she has won it all. One of Jenna’s biggest supporters throughout her skating career has been Razor Skates, who decided to reward Jenna for all her hard work and commitment to the sport by giving Jenna her own pro skate.

This video documents some very rare footage of Jenna competing at contests throughout her career, with a voice over from skating legend Arlo Eisenberg during the World Championship Finals. Directed by Simon Mulvaney the producer of the Ground Control DVD. Filmed at Rampworx Skatepark.

During the process of designing the skate, Jenna suffered from a Breast Cancer scare and decided that she wanted to draw awareness to the dangers of Breast Cancer that affect women across the world. This has been symbolised by having a pink ribbon on the side of the skate. However, Jenna didn’t want to stop there as she has agreed to donate 100% of the profit she would make from this skate to Breast Cancer Care  to help support their continued research.

Features:

Razors Super Light Boot
Razors SL Cuff
Ground Control Featherlight 2 Frames
Jenna Downing Pro Wheel

Our Skatepark is filled to the brim with talent. We have some of the best riders on the planet riding the skatepark on a daily basis. We sent our Creative Manager Matthew Dearden over to the skatepark with his camera on Tuesday night to snap some pictures of the Rampworx locals. He managed to capture some of the amazing BMX and Aggressive skating talent that is constantly floating around the skatepark. From local rider and coach Dan Shepo to Hollywood Actor Kurt Yaeger and World Champion Inline Skater Jenna Downing. Check it out.

Kurt Yaeger at Rampworx Skatepark

After much anticipation and hype the man himself Kurt Yarger visited the skatepark last night as part of his UK tour. A bunch of Kurt’s fans came down to the skatepark to hang out and ride with the Hollywood superstar.

Kurt is most famous for his appearance in the Rudimental music video “Waiting all night”, which shows people the mammoth challenges he had to overcome loosing his leg and having to learn to ride his BMX again. Kurt’s story went viral and the video racked up an amazing 40 million downloads! He has also appeared in several huge Television series such as “Sons of Anarchy”.

Whilst Kurt Yaeger was at the skatepark he wanted to check out our brand new Extension Project being built onto our existing skatepark. Unfortunately the new skatepark is still under development so he didn’t have chance to ride it. However Kurt got to meet another American whilst at Rampworx, John Saxton! We flew in John form the states to help us build our new skatepark he was built skateparks with everyone from Woodward to the XGames, so these guys had lots to talk about. Including our copy of the China Banks that will be in the new park.

Kurt is one of the most inspiring people you could hope to meet. He has an amazing story and is living proof that nothing is impossible. Whilst at Rampworx Kurt also showed the locals that he still has plenty of tricks up his sleeve and busted out some big airs on one of the biggest ramps in the skatepark!

It was a pleasure to have Kurt visit the skatepark and hopefully it was not the last time we will see the American superstar on our ramps!

Rampworx Skatepark Trilight: Young BMX talent (9-14 years old)

By | BMX, Video | No Comments

We invited 3 of our young local riders down to the skatepark to have a closed door session. The amount of talent coming through our skatepark is once again crazy. With a bunch of local pro riders for these guys to look up to and learn from it’s proving to be a great learning environment for our younger riders.

Dylan Hessey: Age 9, Ben Carragher: Age 14 and Owen Page: Age 14 busted out some sick tricks in this 3 minute spotlight. The grass routes of our sports are the most important, they are the future of riding. Keep an eye out for these guys.
