Rampworx is hosting Scoot Fest! August 9/10th 2014

We are super hyped to announce that Rampworx Skatepark will be hosting Scoot Fest North!! This years Scoot Fest will be split up inato two separate weekends kicking off at Rampworx Skatepark on August 9/10th.

Rampworx will be hosting the UK Championships, International Best Trick Contest and Scoot Fest AM Jam!! Not only that but they are flying in the best scooter riders in the world to compete!!!

Big News as Scootfest hosts ISA World Champs for the Second Year and

Goes Multi-Site!

Scootfest 2014 launches its brand new multi-site events to satisfy scooter fans across the UK. Following in the footsteps of some mighty music festivals, Scootfest will spread its billing which includes the 2014 ISA World Championships over 2 main events that hit the North and South of the country and will be linked by a Roadtrip of 4 Scootfest Demo Nights to be released at a later date.

Scootfest North and Scootfest South will be staged on consecutive weekends and will each offer a distinct and different line-up, while being united in offering something for all levels of rider. Ultimately, the new events will deliver more parks, more riding time and bring the Scootfest experience closer to its fans.

Scootfest North (Rampworx, Liverpool) runs 9th & 10th August and features an International Superstar line-up including 2 time World Champion Dakota Schuetz for the Scootfest Best Trick, whilst gathering the Best of British for the UK Championships and opening its doors to all in the Scootfest Am Jam.

Scootfest South (Rush, Stroud) runs 16th & 17th August and hosts the ISA World Championships and International Street Sessions plus a Southern Scootfest Am Jam. Once again, the top 50 riders on the planet will be flying in to Scootfest to lay it on the line in a bid to become the 2014 ISA World Champion.

By working with 2 of the country’s largest and most respected parks, we get to customise amazing venues with Scootfest’s winning accessories to build the ultimate complete. Spotlight: Alex Batista – Scooter, 13 years old

We invited local Scooter rider Alex Batista (13 years old) to come and have a private session at Rampworx Skatepark. We filmed a spotlight video with Alex whilst he was at the skatepark to show you guys some of the local talent coming out of the skatepark. Alex has many tricks hidden up his sleeves and is definitely one to watch for the future.

Announcement: Scooters are now allowed in 4-6pm!

As you are aware Rampworx has operated ‘Scooter Only’ sessions for over 18 months to appease our current user groups by not allowing scooters in on general sessions. However Scooters will now be allowed in until 6pm on weekdays, and on weekends until 4pm.

Whilst we have endeavored to not mix scootering with all other sports this has become increasingly more difficult having been lobbied by the scooter fraternity to allow them in on general sessions. This is on top of a decline in numbers attending the skatepark by our existing core users. To ensure the long term sustainability of our charity we have decided to allow scooters into the skatepark during specific early sessions effective immediately.

This is a decision that has not been taken lightly and we understand that there will be a number of users that will not be happy with this decision. However, in order for us to offer the same level of service for all sports (as with all other Skateparks in the UK) this is necessary. Please be aware that without ALL extreme sports paying into the Rampworx project it will simply die. So its a simple choice really and we need all of you to support our project regardless of the sports that you do.

For reference, we will continue to offer segregated sports nights on Mondays. This is to keep us in line with every other skatepark in the country and to allow you the opportunity to ride periodically with your own sport.

We hope you understand and continue to support your project.

Rampworx Cash 4 Kids Scooter Event

Cash-For-Kids-at-Rampworx

On September 24th Rampworx will be teaming up with Radio City to raise money for Cash For Kids. Cash for Kids is the official charity of Radio City and provides a helping hand to disabled and disadvantaged children in Liverpool and the surrounding areas.

All the money is raised locally and spent locally and goes to children and young people under 18 throughout the region with mental, physical or sensory disabilities with behavioural or psychological disorders, living in poverty or situations of deprivation, suffering through distress, abuse or neglect.

All profits from the tickets we sell on the night will go to the radio City Cash for Kids campaign. We hope to see you there ripping it up and raising money for a good cause!

Reverb Girls Tour at Rampworx Skatepark

Hosted by Lady Rollers Organisation and reverbuk.com the tour kicked off at Unit 23 Skate Park, Dumbarton, where 17 Ladies took over the park sessioned hard and partied on
late into the night. I managed to lose Rosie O’donoghue and was worried we would have to leave without her…only to find she was asleep under the foam pit!

The tour aimed to generate awareness and increase the profile of women within BMX, Skate Board, Inline & Scooter and inspire a new generation
of female athletes.

The main day was held at Rampworx Skate Park, Liverpool, over 50 ladies attended including Jenna Downing, Emma Richardson, Giz Radford, Kayley Ashworth and Debora Cardenas from Chile representing Roll Fem.

Rampworx opened their doors free of charge and had great team on hand providing equipment and coaching.

The atmosphere was electric and the all the Ladies shredded hard, we even had a visit from Jason Phelan..dressed as a women trying to get in! To top the evening we ended up in Bumper, I have to say the ladies got pretty wild!

Saturday, final day of the tour took us to Terminal 1, Melton Mowbray. The tricks going down were next level and we made great use of the foam pit despite all feeling a little worse for wear!

Video: Scooter Only Session July 2012

Twice a month we put on Scooter nights at the skatepark, these sessions see about 350+ avid scooter riders travel to the skatepark. July’s first session was no exception, with a sold out event on a Monday night it was sure to be another great session. Amoungst the local riders was Grit team member Jamie who was busting out all sorts or tricks left right and center.
