Video: You’re never to old to skate (60 year old skateboarder)

By | Skateboard, Video | No Comments

One question we get asked a lot is “do you have an age limit in the skatepark” well yes our minimum age is 5 to use the skatepark, but we have no age cap you are as old as you feel in our books. We have a bunch of older riders that continue to shred the skatepark on a regular basis, these guys have been riding for longer than most of our current users have been alive, heck they have kids and some of their kids have kids.

NEAL UNGER 60 year old skateboarder

Action sports as a whole is not age bias like most sports, you can continue to do what you love for as long as your body will let you. We all know that participating in these sports is much more than just a bit of exercise, it is a lifestyle, it’s addictive, it helps you forget about all those day to day problems and just cruise around a park without a care in the world. Thats the feeling we all love. There is no age limit on this priceless feeling.

NEAL-UNGER

Now there is another type of rider in this equation, the beginner. Who says beginners have to be 6 years old? How about 60 years old. Well Neal Unger shows everyone that it is possible to take up an action sport at the youthful age of 60. This guy is a legend in his own right for pushing his body to the limits to get “that feeling”. Neal Unger has taken up skateboarding at his local skatepark at 60 years old, he is the perfect example of why we love action sports. Now go and show your parents this video and drag them down to the skatepark for a session!!

You’re never to old to skate, you’re are as old as you feel. Keep riding.

In this video series from Andrew Norton, he gives you a fantastic insight into some of the best and most skilled photographers in the industry. In this video they sit down with iconic photographer Jonathan Mehring to give you an insight into his passion.

Reverb Girls Tour at Rampworx Skatepark

By | BMX, Event, Inline, Scooter, Skateboard, Sport, Video | No Comments

Hosted by Lady Rollers Organisation and reverbuk.com the tour kicked off at Unit 23 Skate Park, Dumbarton, where 17 Ladies took over the park sessioned hard and partied on
late into the night. I managed to lose Rosie O’donoghue and was worried we would have to leave without her…only to find she was asleep under the foam pit!

The tour aimed to generate awareness and increase the profile of women within BMX, Skate Board, Inline & Scooter and inspire a new generation
of female athletes.

The main day was held at Rampworx Skate Park, Liverpool, over 50 ladies attended including Jenna Downing, Emma Richardson, Giz Radford, Kayley Ashworth and Debora Cardenas from Chile representing Roll Fem.

Rampworx opened their doors free of charge and had great team on hand providing equipment and coaching.

The atmosphere was electric and the all the Ladies shredded hard, we even had a visit from Jason Phelan..dressed as a women trying to get in! To top the evening we ended up in Bumper, I have to say the ladies got pretty wild!

Saturday, final day of the tour took us to Terminal 1, Melton Mowbray. The tricks going down were next level and we made great use of the foam pit despite all feeling a little worse for wear!

Big thank you to Reverb for providing us with our own DJ’s and “Boom Bus” and to all our sponsors and Skate Parks for making this such a great experience!
