liverpool echo wish foundation

Rampworx Skatepark is raising funds to build a NEW skatepark on the Wirral in Seacombe. This new skatepark will be 27,000 square foot and provide a safe environment for a variety of alternative sports and activities to help benefit the local young people. However, we need your help!!! The Liverpool Echo has composed a list of charities for you the readers to help support.

All you have to do is turn to page 14 of your Liverpool Echo and bring the vouchers printed inside to the skatepark or one of our shops. The charity that manages to collect the most vouchers will end up getting some funding towards our project!

Thanks for your support!

Price Increase £1 a Session

By | Charity, Event | No Comments

Price-Increase-Rampworx

Unfortunately, due to the increased cost of running a facility the size of Rampworx we have no alternative but to increase our prices by £1 on every session. This will begin on the 6th October 2013.

So far this year we have invested over £70,000 into the improving the skatepark and building the 15,000 sqft extension. This has led to increased overheads, such as rental, staffing costs and utility/energy bills. We have tried to avoid a price increase for over 3 years now, but as you and your folks will tell you, utility/energy bills, rental costs, maintenance and equipment have gone up every year and we just cannot survive without this increase.

If you don’t already know, Rampworx is a registered children’s charity, so NO ONE is making a profit from this… all our extra revenue goes into to keeping the park going, such as bills, repairs, equipment, new obstacles and so on.

Its worth pointing out that, even with a price increase, Rampworx is still the cheapest skateparks to use in the country. Fact!

We thank you for your continued support of our project and look forward to seeing you soon.

NEW SESSION PRICE FROM £6.50 A SESSION

Our competitors session prices:

Unit 23 = £9 a session
Adrelian Alley = £8 a session
Beast Rampz = £7.50 a session
Bones = £7 a session

Kurt Yaeger visits Rampworx!

By | BMX, Event, Riders | No Comments

Kurt Yaeger at Rampworx Skatepark

After much anticipation and hype the man himself Kurt Yarger visited the skatepark last night as part of his UK tour. A bunch of Kurt’s fans came down to the skatepark to hang out and ride with the Hollywood superstar.

Kurt is most famous for his appearance in the Rudimental music video “Waiting all night”, which shows people the mammoth challenges he had to overcome loosing his leg and having to learn to ride his BMX again. Kurt’s story went viral and the video racked up an amazing 40 million downloads! He has also appeared in several huge Television series such as “Sons of Anarchy”.

Whilst Kurt Yaeger was at the skatepark he wanted to check out our brand new Extension Project being built onto our existing skatepark. Unfortunately the new skatepark is still under development so he didn’t have chance to ride it. However Kurt got to meet another American whilst at Rampworx, John Saxton! We flew in John form the states to help us build our new skatepark he was built skateparks with everyone from Woodward to the XGames, so these guys had lots to talk about. Including our copy of the China Banks that will be in the new park.

Kurt is one of the most inspiring people you could hope to meet. He has an amazing story and is living proof that nothing is impossible. Whilst at Rampworx Kurt also showed the locals that he still has plenty of tricks up his sleeve and busted out some big airs on one of the biggest ramps in the skatepark!

It was a pleasure to have Kurt visit the skatepark and hopefully it was not the last time we will see the American superstar on our ramps!
